Summer Rituals
We just crossed the threshold from Spring into Summer on June 21st, the Solstice.
Now is a stellar time to take down your altar, dust everything off, and reconstruct it in honor of this new season of fullness and completions.
What actions, habits and positive aftermath of your work this spring are you now able to harvest? How will you celebrate your recent completions? How can you deeply nourish yourself this season?
Weave a new altar with these intentions using fruit, bold summer colors, and photos, phrases or talismans that represent what you'd like to create this season.
The new moon portal is O P E N
Tuesday June 28th was the new moon in Cancer (water sign). This is our monthly opportunity to hit the reset button. The manifesting phrase for Cancer is "I feel"... use this new moon portal to write down what you feel deeply called to manifest right now. Q3, baby
If you like to operate with a quarterly awareness, then welcome to Q3 of 2022! I learned to use quarters as signposts from my first business mentor, Monica Shah. Each new quarter I do a process of reflection, assessment and planning. I find this extremely helpful and clarifying for my business and also for my personal aims and intentions.

The full moon is in Capricorn this month, an ambitious, earthy and resourceful energy to harness. Full moons are energetic wormholes that open the door to easily shedding, releasing and letting go of things, relationships, patterns, habits and beliefs that are keeping you stagnant. If you journal each full moon, it's also a great time to look back one month ago and see how far you've come in just one moon cycle!

Welcome to fire season
Symbolically, and literally.
This is my first summer living back in the Pacific Northwest since I was a teenager. I've spent the last nearly 10 years in southern California where, unfortunately, along with blissful beachtime and ocean swimming, summer also means wildfires.
I'm not sad to leave that chapter behind, as it was a bit traumatizing to be honest... And, let's get real— there's nowhere to go to escape natural disaster.
Fire has become an annual, national (and even global) occurrence no matter where you live.
Sending out a big prayer here for heightened awareness for open flame and also for La Niña to keep doing her thing and bring the rains throughout the summer!
Simultaneously, while we lift our prayers and awareness to keep the element of physical fire in check, let's also celebrate the higher polarity of being in a season represented by the element of FIRE.
In the Tarot, fire is represented by the suit of wands, symbolizing passion, movement, spiritual pursuit, physical and metaphysical energy, inspiration, enthusiasm and the spark of life + imagination.
While the season of summer weaves several zodiac signs (shoutout to my Cancer + Leo family this July!), the wholeness of summer is encapsulated in the element of fire... hot, steamy, activating, alive and awake with energy.
Now, whether that energy is steered in a positive or negative direction is entirely up to us...
With the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade last month, many are feeling a lot of sacred rage. Let it come. And remember that in a true democracy, nothing is permanent. A badass woman I follow named Rachel Rogers has created an amazing project through her company Hello7, which will help to fund abortion related costs and travel for marginalized women who need support. You can read about the initiative and even donate to it here.
Lastly, I want to highlight another amazing project, called Plastic-Free July.
This is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution, so we can have a cleaner streets, oceans and communities. There's a LONG way to go to be truly plastic free, but the way I see it, we can all do better. I know it's overwhelming friend, but together, our baby steps will make a difference. Will you join me in devoting yourself this month to eliminate or drastically reduce your use of single use plastics?
